Program Overview
A four-session psycho-education and support group is available for family members and loved ones of individuals experiencing a gambling problem or problem with technology use. Individuals will be booked for an initial assessment in the Problem Gambling and Technology Use Service and then referred to the problem gambling psycho-education support group for family members, which runs a few times per year as needed. Family members can access this group by contacting Access CAMH, or they can be referred internally when their family member is a client of the Problem Gambling and Technology Use Service.
There is individual and group support for parents concerned about excessive gaming and internet use among youth aged 16-25. A limited number (up to six sessions) of individual sessions are available for parents who are concerned about technology use by their young family member, as long as they agree to attend the eight-session parent group which typically runs three times per year. Parents can access this group by contacting Access CAMH, or they can be referred internally when their young family member is a client of the Problem Gambling and Technology Use Service.
