Dr. Cristina de Lasa is a hospitalist and Innovation Lead in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She is an Associate Scientist in the Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. She previously served as Medical Education Lead and Medical Head of the Division of Hospital Medicine, where she provided leadership in medical education, clinical operations, quality improvement, and academic development.
Dr. de Lasa completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, Family Medicine residency training at McMaster University, and a Master of Healthcare Quality and Safety at Harvard Medical School. She holds a Certificate of Added Competence in Care of the Elderly and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Throughout her career, Dr. de Lasa has championed the integration of physical and mental healthcare within specialized mental health settings. Her work focuses on advancing clinical, educational, and system-level innovations that improve physical healthcare for individuals living with serious mental illness.
